This includes stairs, platforms, handrail, ladders, and structural frames on Utah jobsites. It is a hands-on role. The Foreman works alongside the crew while leading the work, the schedule, safety, and quality. When there is no field work, the Foreman works in the fabrication shop as a fitter and welder, and prepares the next field job.Why this role matters. Most of our erection is done by others. On the jobs we install ourselves, one person needs to own the work from the shop door to the final punch list. That keeps the crew safe, the customer informed, and our Project Managers from chasing field details. It also closes the loop between the field and the shop, because the Foreman sees fabrication problems first.Job responsibilitiesPlan the field workReview erection drawings, shop drawings, and specifications with the Project Manager before each jobPlan the install sequence, crew size, equipment, and lifts neededConfirm the site is ready before the crew mobilizes, including access, laydown area, and anchor bolt or embed locationsPrepare and load each field job: hardware, bolts, consumables, tools, rigging, and fall protectionCheck delivered material against the shipping list and report anything missing or damaged the same dayLead the installLead the crew in rigging, setting, plumbing, leveling, bolting, field welding, and touch-up of stairs, platforms, handrail, ladders, and framesAssign daily tasks and monitor crew productivity and workmanshipCoordinate crane, forklift, telehandler, and aerial lift use with the customer or general contractorTake field measurements and verify layout before setting steelCoordinate daily with the general contractor and other tradesComplete punch list and corrective work promptlyKeep the crew safeRun daily pre-task planning (PTP) and job hazard analysis (JHA) with the crew before work startsEnforce EZARC safety policies, customer site rules, and UOSH and OSHA requirements, including the steel erection standard (Subpart R)Make sure every crew member has the required fall protection and steel erection training before working at heightVerify proper PPE, fall protection, rigging, and safe equipment use every dayInspect rigging, harnesses, lanyards, and lifting gear before use and remove damaged equipmentStop work when conditions are unsafe, and report every incident and near miss the same dayGet it right the first timeInstall to drawings, specifications, and tolerancesTighten bolts and complete field welds to the project specifications and EZARC proceduresDocument any field fix with photos and the causeReport fabrication or detailing errors to the shop and Detailing so they are not repeatedLead and documentComplete daily reports with manpower, progress, photos, delays, and issuesReview and approve crew timecards for accurate hours and job codingTrain and mentor crew members, especially shop employees new to field workCommunicate schedule risks to the Production Manager and Project Manager as soon as they are seenShop work between field jobsWork as a fitter and welder in the fabrication shop under the Shop Supervisor's directionPrepare kits, hardware, and equipment for upcoming field jobsPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsRequired3 or more years of structural or miscellaneous steel experience, including field installationLead, foreman, or supervisor experience leading a crewAble to read and interpret erection drawings, shop drawings, and specificationsStrong understanding of steel, connections, bolting, and field construction methodsAble to pass an EZARC weld test in the positions used in the field and shopWorking knowledge of OSHA fall protection and steel erection requirementsOSHA 10Able to work at heights and in elevated work areasAbility to pass drug testing, background screening, and customer site access requirementsPreferredHigh school diploma or equivalentOSHA 30AWS D1.1 structural welding certificationQualified rigger and signal person, or willing to obtain before directing crane liftsAerial lift (MEWP), forklift, and telehandler operator certificationFirst Aid, CPR, and AEDExperience installing stairs, platforms, handrail, and laddersValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordComfortable using a tablet for daily reports and drawings, or willing to learn Tekla GoPhysical requirementsMust be able to perform these essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:Ability to perform physically demanding construction and shop workFrequent climbing, lifting, carrying, kneeling, bending, and working at heightsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to wear required PPE, including harness, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, welding gear, and fall protectionWork environmentActive commercial and industrial jobsites in Utah, and the EZARC fabrication shopExposure to elevated work areas, cranes, heavy equipment, welding, noise, dust, and changing site conditionsFast-paced work that requires strong situational awareness and teamworkScheduleFull-time positionOvertime and weekend work may be required to support field schedulesTravel to Utah jobsites as projects requirePerformance expectationsThe Foreman is measured on three things: the job is safe, on time, and done right.MeasureWhat good looks likeSafeDaily PTP completed every day.
