Fabrication Operator

Our client, in Watertown SD, a precision metal fabrication and manufacturing company, is seeking a CNC Laser Operator / Machine Operator to join their team. As a CNC Laser Operator, you will be part of the production team supporting fabrication and operations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a safety-first mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: CNC Laser Operator / Machine Operator
Location: Watertown SD
Pay Range: 19.00 or More (DOE)

What’s the Job?

• Set up and operate CNC laser equipment to cut sheet and plate steel according to blueprints and work orders
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measuring tools
• Load programs, stage materials, and make machine adjustments to maintain tolerance and quality standards
• Complete routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, fluid checks, and consumable changes
• Move, tag, and stage finished material while completing required production and quality documentation

What’s Needed?

• Ability to read blueprints, tape measures, and production documentation accurately
• Basic math, computer, and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes, steel materials, and quality standards (SPC preferred)
• Experience operating manufacturing equipment (laser, CNC, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices

  • 2nd shift - 3 pm - 1: am (M-F)
  • Weekends - 6 am - 6 pm (F-Su)
