Responsibilities
• Write Method of Procedure (MOP) documents for energization and shutdown activities.
• Provide oversight and coordination of energization and shutdowns for both construction (temporary) and permanent power systems.
• Ensure all energy control activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to schedule and communicate planned energization and shutdown events.
• Conduct pre-task briefings and safety reviews prior to all energization or de-energization activities.
• Verify that all personnel involved in energy control activities are properly trained and qualified.
• Maintain accurate records of energy control activities, MOPs, and associated documentation.
• Identify and mitigate energy-related hazards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all energy control-related questions and escalations.
Requirements
• Minimum pay grade of E-7 or equivalent experience level.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification (required).
• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) certification.
• NFPA 70E – Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace certification.
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) trained and certified.
• Licensed Journeyman Electrician with active, valid licensure.
• In-depth knowledge of the MOP (Method of Procedure) development and execution process.
• Demonstrated experience with electrical systems, including systems operating above 600V.
• Thorough understanding of one-line drawings and electrical schematics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to manage and document energy control procedures in a construction environment.
