Job Description
Facilities Electrical Systems Technician
Is this you?
- Do you thrive on diagnosing tough electrical problems—MCC to motor, panel to process—until production is humming again?
- Are NEC and NFPA 70E second nature, and safety your first instinct?
- Can you read a schematic in the morning, commission a VFD after lunch, and log airtight CMMS notes before you clock out?
What you’ll do
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and controls that power manufacturing, labs, warehouses, and utilities.
- Support production assets, HVAC systems, cleanroom infrastructure, and facility support equipment.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance to boost reliability and uptime.
- Troubleshoot motors, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, distribution panels, lighting networks, and 480V power.
- Interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals with precision.
- Partner with automation/instrumentation teams to resolve integrated control and electrical issues.
- Inspect and test systems for compliance with company standards, NEC, NFPA 70E, and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to breakdowns and facility emergencies with urgency and discipline.
- Document all work thoroughly in the CMMS; support RCA and CAPA activities.
- Contribute to energy-efficiency and continuous improvement projects.
- Work within EHS, GMP, and quality system frameworks daily.
What you bring
- High school diploma or GED; apprenticeship completion or equivalent technical training.
- Connecticut E-1 Unlimited Electrical Journeyperson License (required).
- 3–5 years in a regulated industrial environment (manufacturing, pharma, biotech, medical device).
- Solid command of NEC, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety.
- Experience maintaining and repairing industrial electrical systems up to 480V.
- Fluency reading schematics, blueprints, and manuals for PM/CM execution.
You should be proficient in: High School / GED
