Facilities Electro-Mechanical Engineer

Emerge is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire Facilities Electro-Mechanical Engineer job in Dover, NJ for our client, a world-class manufacturer of aerospace and industrial components.  This is a facilities position working in a large manufacturing plant, analyzing engineering proposals and technical data to support industrial machinery and equipment design, and evaluating the feasibility of new equipment or facility modifications based on cost, space, and technical factors. The position provides technical guidance on manufacturing processes and troubleshoots equipment issues, while also managing significant contractor relationships around the design, costing, quoting, and execution of electrical, control, and automation upgrades. This position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $120,000, BOE per year, plus a 5% annual bonus, along with excellent benefits that start on day one including a robust 401K plan and several medical plans. 

Responsibilities for the Electro-Mechanical Engineer job in Dover, NJ include:

• Analyzing engineering proposals and technical data related to industrial machinery and equipment design.
• Evaluating the feasibility of designing new equipment or modifying existing facilities, factoring in cost, space, and technical/economic considerations.
• Providing technical guidance on manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment to support long-range plant and product engineering.
• Troubleshooting equipment issues and resolving related work problems.
• Testing newly installed machinery.
• Cost estimates and initiating purchases for equipment and maintenance supplies.
• Managing contractor relationships and overseeing the design, costing, quoting, and execution of electrical, control, and automation system upgrades.
• Coordinating and supporting the installation of various electrical system projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, plus 3+ years of relevant experience required.

• Knowledge of electrical control systems (prints, VFDs, motors, drives, servos, sensors).

• Familiarity with 460VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC, and 5VDC systems.

• Experience with ladder logic software (ProWORX 32, RSLogix, SoMachine).

• Understanding of mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, dampers, strainers, conveyors, and vacuum systems.

• Knowledge of water systems including open-loop, closed-loop, cooling towers, etc. 

• Familiarity with robotics (Yaskawa Motoman) is a PLUS!

• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar design software.

• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, and Siemens PLCs and drives.

• Strong interpersonal skills for supervising outside contractors and technicians.
