We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance & Custodial Technician to support the daily maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities.The ideal candidate will have experience performing general building maintenance, minor repairs, custodial services, and preventative maintenance tasks. This position requires an individual who can work independently, prioritize assignments, identify maintenance concerns, and maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment for employees, visitors, and customers.ResponsibilitiesBuilding Maintenance & RepairsPerform routine building maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall work.Maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, and general building components.Assist with preventative maintenance of HVAC and other building systems.Maintain building exteriors, walkways, and surrounding areas.Identify and report major repair needs and assist with facility setup and equipment relocation.Coordinate higher level repairs and maintenance with external contractors.Provide escort service for contractors working on siteCustodial & Janitorial ServicesClean and sanitize offices, restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, and common areas.Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, and general floor care.Clean windows, fixtures, and surfaces while maintaining restroom and cleaning supplies.Perform periodic deep cleaning and maintain organized storage and custodial areas.Preventative Maintenance & Facility SupportConduct routine facility inspections and complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.Identify and report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and maintenance concerns.Maintain inventories of tools, cleaning supplies, and maintenance materials.Respond to maintenance requests, document completed work, and support general facility operations.Safety & ComplianceFollow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and established maintenance procedures.Properly handle and store chemicals, tools, and equipment while utilizing required PPE.Maintain safe working conditions, clear emergency exits, and promptly report hazards.Skills and QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.1–2 years of experience in building maintenance, custodial services, or related work preferred.Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs.Experience using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation practices, and safe chemical handling.Ability to troubleshoot basic maintenance issues and work independently.Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills with dependable attendance.Preferred QualificationsExperience in commercial or industrial facility maintenance and preventative maintenance.Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general building systems.Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment and maintaining safety documentation.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to safely operate tools, ladders, and cleaning equipment.Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.RELYANT is a Veteran Owned Business with our Global headquarters located in Maryville, TN.
