Job Summary: Facilities Maintenance Technician (Contract) - Fremont, CA

About the Role

Join our dynamic team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician and play a pivotal role in supporting the operational excellence of a state-of-the-art cGMP manufacturing facility. In this hands-on position, you will ensure laboratories and offices remain in top condition, compliant with regulatory standards, and inspection-ready at all times. Responsibilities

• Execute preventive maintenance and repairs on facility mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
• Maintain building management and fire/life safety systems to meet compliance and safety standards
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve facility-related issues such as temperature, plumbing, and equipment malfunctions
• Support site improvement initiatives, capital projects, and manage small tenant improvements and contractors
• Conduct routine facility inspections, identify deviations, and document findings
• Complete accurate work orders, PMs, root cause analyses, and compliance documentation
• Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support audit activities
• Communicate effectively with building occupants and internal stakeholders regarding status of work assignments
• Promote and practice safe work habits; respond promptly to emergency notifications

Required Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years of relevant experience, including 2-3 years in a cGMP facility
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance skills
• Familiarity with quality systems and validated facility requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent communication skills with ability to produce accurate reports and follow instructions in English
• Ability to build positive relationships with contractors and colleagues

Preferred Skills

• Experience with BMS (Building Management System)
• Exposure to engineering change orders and compliance documentation
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
