Position Interface
This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager and will interact daily with other Rod Shop associates including the Management Team.
Responsibilities:
Be an ambassador of the Brand and embody the Orvis culture and its core values
Complete Facilities Tasks that include but not limited to:
Housekeeping duties for offices and common areas
Cleaning and restocking restrooms
Mail and material pick ups
Replace HVAC filters, empty dust bins, monthly mail truck inspections, and perform other basic preventative maintenance tasks
Other facilities, housekeeping and support duties as assigned
Provide support as needed in the rod building process to complete the manufacturing of an Orvis Fly Rod which may include:
Operating state-of-the-art rod manufacturing equipment
Cutting, cleaning, and painting rod sections
Assembling and installing reel seats and cork handles
Affixing guides to rod blanks
Inspecting work and ensuring quality control
Work to specification and meet daily production goals
Complete additional assignments from Rod Shop management
Required Qualifications:
Valid driver's license
Pass a background check
Have a clean driving record
High school diploma
Excellent attendance and strong work ethic
Proactive, adaptable, collaborative and solution-oriented personality
Ability to take verbal direction and execute with exactness
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and prioritize daily tasks
Physical ability to lift and move up to 30lbs
Physical ability to bend and move with agility
Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in janitorial, custodial, facilities, or general maintenance work
Experience in light manufacturing and/or the use of hand tools
