About the role
The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties including daily maintenance and up-keep of the building, supporting manufacturing operations and administration. Also performs emergency repairs, scheduled repairs and assists with new equipment installations.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and inspections of all facilities equipment, maintaining emergency lighting systems, CCTV and keep records of those activities
Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Identifies and remediates all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) issues as they arise. Complies with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.
Position will require responding to overtime and emergency call-ins as required or directed to ensure proper facility operations.
Work from drawings, schematics and other electrical documentation
Conducting functional acceptance testing for newly installed components facility equipment and building management system
Conduct daily rounds and process related readings
Work with other discipline technicians to support mechanical and process equipment including air compressors, vacuum pumps, circulating pumps, chillers, air handling units, gas fired boilers, high purity water systems, exhaust fans and plumbing.
Ensure the availability of an adequate inventory of tools and other supplies to operate the building. Specific duties include but are not limited to preparing and submitting purchase orders requests, developing sources for stock materials and performing periodic checks of inventory levels and equipment conditions.

About you
Must have a current Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment Operators license or successfully obtain license within the first 12 months of employment.
Must be proficient in basic computer application software such as Word, Outlook, etc.
Must be skilled in the use of tools and equipment of the electrical trade.
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC70), Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment maintenance (NFPA 70B) and Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E)
Working knowledge of Building Management Systems
Must have the ability to work from drawings, sketches and specifications
Must be able to troubleshoot a variety of electrical and pneumatic issues
Experience with motor control circuits and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
Must be familiar with OSHA safety regulations
Must have the ability to operate a forklift or scissor lift
Taking and passing CPR/AED training and 8-Hour HAZMAT General Awareness within the first 12 months of employment
