Facilities Maintenance Technician

About the Opportunity:

We're seeking a hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to support a modern pharmaceutical research and laboratory facility. This is a newer, well-maintained single-building environment with a broad range of mechanical and building systems. This is a strong opportunity for someone with HVAC, mechanical, facilities maintenance, or building automation experience who enjoys troubleshooting across multiple systems rather than specializing in one narrow trade.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, air handlers (AHUs), VAVs, pumps, motors, fans, and compressors.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including filter changes, belt adjustments, and lubrication.
• Conduct basic electrical troubleshooting using a voltmeter or multimeter to check power, fuses, motors, and components.
• Monitor building management/automation systems (BMS/BAS).
• Maintain DI water, reverse-osmosis (RO) filtration, and UV systems as needed.
• Document maintenance and repairs in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in commercial facilities maintenance, HVAC, mechanical maintenance, or a related technical field.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose equipment issues independently.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with a voltmeter or multimeter.
• Experience with commercial or industrial building equipment.
• Trade school or formal technical training may offset fewer years of experience.

Preferred:

• BMS/BAS or HVAC controls experience
• CMMS knowledge
• Pharmaceutical/Laboratory/Healthcare facility experience
• EPA certification

Job Type: 6-Months Contract to Hire

Work Set Up/Schedule: Onsite at Westborough, MA 01581 (Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM-4:00 PM) with mandatory overtime and an on-call rotation every other week
