We are currently recruiting a highly qualified Facilities Manager to join our team in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview
The Facilities Manager provides strategic and operational leadership to the facilities team responsible for the maintenance, safety, and reliability of our Huntsville plant. In this role, you will implement and manage a facility maintenance management system across all equipment and building systems to support high-reliability aerospace and defense manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Building Systems & Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations, maintenance staff, and building infrastructure to maintain optimal facility standards.
- Maintenance Management System: Implement, manage, and maintain the facility maintenance management system for all plant equipment.
- Contractor & Vendor Management: Serve as the primary interface for external contractors, including scope of work preparation, work plans, purchase requisitions, tender packages, and invoicing.
- Emergency & Access Control Systems: Support the development and administration of operational procedures and privileges for building automation, access control, and fire alarm monitoring systems.
- Production Line Support: Partner with production line management on equipment installation, lab area renovations, and new construction projects.
- Help Desk Management: Ensure the facility request system ("help line") is efficient, responsive, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Site Assessment & Planning: Evaluate sites for potential relocations, coordinate facility space needs, and conduct site tours for existing locations.
Financial & Leadership Responsibilities
- Budget Management: Develop, track, and manage overall operational and maintenance budgets for the facility.
- Team Leadership & Development: Hire, coach, and develop team members. Set clear objectives, provide continuous feedback, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Technical Guidance: Leverage deep expertise in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and emergency support systems to guide the team in solving complex facility challenges.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or a related field (or equivalent years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of hands-on Facility Maintenance experience.
- EHS Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) legislation, compliance, and industry best practices.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of facility mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and emergency back-up systems.
- Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen due to Department of Defense contract requirements.
