UT Health East Texas provides healthcare services through our hospitals, clinics, Level 1 trauma facility, air emergency fleet and EMS service. ResponsibilitiesThe Facilities Manager oversees the planning, scheduling, and day-to-day operations of facility maintenance, plant operations, building systems, equipment, and utilities across designated UT Health East Texas facilities. This role leads maintenance and skilled trades staff while coordinating preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and facility projects to support safe, reliable, and efficient healthcare operations.Lead and supervise facilities maintenance and plant operations, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating daily maintenance activities.Supervise and provide direction to maintenance and skilled trades staff, including maintenance mechanics, HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, painters, and carpenters.Coordinate preventive maintenance, building repairs, equipment repairs, installations, and utility system maintenance.Train, develop, and provide day-to-day direction to assigned staff, escalating personnel matters to the Director of Plant Services as appropriate.Partner with department leaders to prioritize and schedule maintenance, repair, and facility improvement projects while minimizing disruption to operations.Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers and assist with purchasing parts, equipment, supplies, and materials needed for maintenance and repairs.Provide responsive customer service to departments and facility leaders by addressing maintenance needs and supporting timely resolution of facility-related concerns.Participate on hospital committees and collaborate with leadership on facility operations and maintenance priorities. QualificationsJob Requirements: High School diploma or equivalentCompletion of an apprenticeship program in one or more skilled trades or equivalentEight (8) or more years of experience in building repairs and maintenance, minor electrical and plumbing maintenance, as well as general mechanical repairs and general maintenanceTwo (2) years of experience in hospital maintenanceValid Texas Drivers LicensePreferred Job Requirements:Associate degree preferredSupervisory training or experience
