The VISTA member will be assigned projects that will allow the Veterans Memorial Building (VMB) to provide services and program deliverables which will improve the Veterans Memorial Building ability to increase program participation by increasing client services to veterans and seniors' clients who seek access to VMB programs and services. Recent years have presented a strain on the VMB volunteers' resources and programs. With the addition and assistance from a VISTA member, the VMB would be able to continue increasing program deliverables by streamlining services and gathering data that support funding requests for program growth Member will participate in onboard activities and orientations to learn about the Veterans Memorial Building services and programs, ServeNebraska, and AmeriCorps. Member will learn about current CRM programs and become trained in database management, streamlining analog records, actively acquiring knowledge and strategies with the ability to apply them to the organization, making a positive impact on the clients and community. The Member will be assigned projects tasks that align with skill sets and program goals. Team conversations and review will determine the VISTA members program priority for data gathering, research, marketing, special events and projects. This will assist the VMB in providing services and program deliverables which will improve the Veterans Memorial Building and its community partners ability to increase program participation by those clients served. The VISTA member will be responsible for conducting research to streamline program services in preparation for program manual revisions and developing in-house efficiencies impacting client services. As a result, the VISTA member will have resources and research data available to revise program manuals, streamline archive materials, catalog donations, capture Veterans and Seniors oral history stories and needs to enhance program deliverables. Member Duties : The VISTA members program priority will be, data gathering, research, marketing, special events and projects. This will assist the VMB in providing services and program deliverables. Member will meet with Veterans Memorial Building Board members, committees, community partners and boards including program collaborators to shadow various roles to become acquainted with the VMB, community programs and operations. During this process, the VISTA member will have the opportunity to prioritize time with local community leaders, collaborating organizations board members, VMB team leaders and key volunteers. This will include program and exhibit build out, grant writing, program evaluations, surveys, volunteer recruitment and the development of a volunteer manual to incorporate community partners needs and reduce duplication.
