Facilities Technician

BlueWave is hiring a Facilities Technician for an industrial facilities client in the Cape Canaveral, Florida area. As a Facilities Technician, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance across a variety of building systems and finishes. This role requires strong drywall and painting skills along with the ability to independently complete general plumbing, carpentry, hardware, and facility-maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Paint interior and exterior surfaces.
• Patch, repair, finish, texture, and paint drywall.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs involving toilets, sinks, faucets, fixtures, and drains.
• Clear drains using appropriate maintenance equipment.
• Repair and install locks, handles, hinges, closers, panic hardware, and other door components.
• Complete general carpentry and handyman assignments.
• Install shelving, fixtures, televisions, and miscellaneous building components.
• Perform preventive maintenance and facility inspections.
• Complete grounds maintenance and miscellaneous outdoor work.
• Respond to and document maintenance requests through an electronic work-order system.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.

Requirements

• At least three years of facilities maintenance, commercial maintenance, apartment maintenance, or general construction experience.
• Strong drywall repair, finishing, texturing, and painting experience.
• Experience performing basic plumbing and drain repairs.
• Experience repairing doors, locks, handles, hinges, and related hardware.
• General carpentry and handyman experience.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
• Ability to read, prioritize, and complete work orders.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Commercial or industrial building maintenance experience preferred.
• Apartment, hospitality, hospital, school, or university maintenance experience preferred.
• Forklift or scissor-lift experience preferred.

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire, onsite in the Cape Canaveral, Florida area; Monday through Friday, approximately 50 hours per week.
