    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    This position exists for the purpose of supporting the facilities manager in primarily meeting the needs of the college as well as various general maintenance duties.

    Emergency Designation: Essential

    Physical Requirements: The physical ability to use the body in primary type skills necessary to perform duties such as, but not limited to, the following:

    • Heavy lifting, carrying, and reaching high places.
    • Working on roofs, ladders, and scaffolds.
    • Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics and basements.
    • Proficient use of hand & power tools.
    • Experience operating scissor lift, articulating lift & snowplowing preferred.

    Education and Experience:

    • Associates degree or High school diploma.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in facility maintenance position. Preferably in an educational setting.
    • Valid driver's license required.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    Technical

    • Troubleshoot and repair of HVAC systems.
    • Troubleshoot and repair of lighting and other electrical components.
    • Repair and installation of various types of plumbing fixtures.
    • Ability to read and interpret as-built plans.
    • Repair and maintain drywall/paint, flooring and door components.

    Organizational

    • Supervise, inspect & delegate tasks to student workers in all aspects of maintenance.
    • Inspect various maintenance tasks.
    • Planning and scheduling of preventive maintenance.
    • Maintain and organize building inventory.
    • Work independently and with sub-contractors during projects.
    • Reading and understanding written instructions such as work orders.
    • Writing reports of actions taken and recommendations for manager.
    • Proficient computer knowledge and skills.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Organizational - Perform and work closely with other members of Physical Plant and College staff and assist in other duties whenever called upon as needed for the good and welfare of the total college ministry
