Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Team Leader performs moderately complex facility tasks, functions, and/or maintenance duties. Under the general supervision of the Facility/Regional Coordinator/Manager/Supervisor, this role carries lead responsibilities for overseeing and assigning Building Services, facility maintenance, and utility staff to complete tasks. This position plays a key role in supporting CBRE's commitment to operational excellence and best-in-class facilities management.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists and checks facility to ensure security, cleaning, mail, maintenance, conference room set-up, and delivery functions are performed. Assigns, leads, monitors, and/or performs utility, Building Services, and maintenance work functions; ensures all work is addressed and completed. Orients and trains staff and maintains liaisons with internal staff and outside vendors.
  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs (non-licensed) utilizing a variety of tools, ensuring proper operation of equipment, and assists in the training and use of all equipment. Responsible for using paper tracking/filing and automated systems.
  • Notifies supervisor regarding staffing issues/problems, emergencies, system malfunctions, or other major problems. Reviews assigned projects with supervisor and provides feedback/progress updates.
  • Monitors, maintains, and tracks facility systems and service contracts, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, and security systems, and responds to problems according to CBRE's facility protocol.
  • Coordinates work orders with facility departments, equipment maintenance and repair, and laundry functions. Maintains records, logs, and reports for the facility.
  • May perform one or more of the following: open or close facility; train and lead contract personnel on building maintenance activities; notify authorities or on-call staff regarding emergency situations; assist with conference room scheduling, setups, breakdowns, and cleanups for meetings/presentations; maintain inventories, order and receive supplies, enter receipts; assist in snow removal and groundskeeping; prepare biohazard waste for transport; assist with timesheet completion of staff; assist with coordination of holiday coverage and time-off requests; assist with utility/maintenance/inventory functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs and monitors work for a small group (typically up to 5 employees) of staff performing maintenance functions. Provides direction and support to staff to assure departmental effectiveness and efficiency. Orients and trains staff. Provides input into performance evaluations. May act as supervisor in the absence of the actual supervisor. Carries out supervisory responsibilities within areas of responsibility in accordance with CBRE's policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g., GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required. Valid Driver's License (Class III) preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of general maintenance/repair techniques typically acquired through 3–5 years of experience. Education beyond high school may count toward experience.

SKILLS

Overall knowledge of cleaning procedures, inventory management and receiving, mailroom functions, and building maintenance required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Proficient in the use of all electronic tools and applications relevant to the performance of job duties, including but not limited to phone, keyboard, computer, and computer applications.
  • Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and CBRE policies and procedures.
  • Accesses only the minimum necessary protected health information (PHI) for the performance of job duties. Actively protects the confidentiality and privacy of all PHI in all its forms (written, verbal, and electronic), taking reasonable precautions to prohibit unauthorized access. Complies with all applicable privacy policies, procedures, and protocols, including HIPAA guidelines.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Busy environment with frequent interruptions. Work requires frequent lifting, standing, carrying, moving, and walking. Requires lifting a minimum of 30 pounds. Work involves routine exposure to the elements and moderate exposure to chemical substances.
