Factory Lab Supervisor

The Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a Factory Lab Supervisor in Twin Falls, ID. This position will directly supervise the factory laboratory at the Twin Falls, ID facility. Primary job functions will include process material balancing/accounting and performance reporting, budget preparation and management, crew selection and training, chemical preparation, instrument maintenance and calibration, and process improvement investigation and testing.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all team members follow the safety protocols and policies, as directed by the Safety Department.
• Ensure that all team members have the tools necessary to work effectively and efficiently.
• Manage a team consisting of up to 30 hourly employees, working 24/7 on rotating 12-hour shifts.
• Assist the Operating Department in solving or investigating process and/or product quality problems, as related to laboratory analysis.
• Assist in the training and development of both technical and non-technical staff as related to factory operations and process analytics.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in laboratory operations.
• 3-5 years of personnel and/or project management/leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated exceptional troubleshooting abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to communicate both orally as well as in writing.
• Significant knowledge of standard quality and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret safety information & placards.
