Faculty / PhilosophyThe University of Mary in Bismarck, ND invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Philosophy starting Fall Semester, 2027. Areas of Specialization and Competence are open, but an ability to bring Aristotelian and Thomistic philosophy into fruitful dialogue with other philosophical traditions is a distinct asset. Expertise in bioethics is also an asset, but not required. A Ph.D. in Philosophy is preferred by time of employment. Applicants must excel in teaching and be committed to supporting formation outside of the classroom. An active research agenda is an asset. The teaching load is a 4/4 with the possibility of summer teaching for additional pay. All faculty are expected to demonstrate a willingness to support and advance the Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine mission and identity of the University of Mary (see

Qualifications and Requirements Include:- Ph.D. in philosophy, preferred by time of employment
- Conversant in Aristotelian and Thomistic philosophy
- Upholds and supports the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary
- Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities
- Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the School of Arts and Sciences and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ
