The faculty physician will work as part of a team to facilitate excellent patient care, superior teaching and impactful research. Faculty are responsible for advancing this tripartite mission by performing all duties, functions and tasks related to furthering these important goals.
Essential Job Function:
Teaching and Education Provision of educational conferences for residents, faculty, students and teams include Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs, Noon Conferences, Medical Student Lectures, Clinical Improvement Conferences, Board Review sessions and others as assigned.
Mentoring of medical students, APP students and residents.
Provide clinical supervision students and residents on rotations as assigned.
Clinical Provide patient care patients in various clinical areas as assigned.
Scholarly Work and Research Faculty should encourage and support residents in scholarly activities including abstract submission, poster presentation, oral presentation and case report publication.
The faculty must establish and maintain an environment of inquiry and scholarship with an active research component.
This may include collaboration and participation in approved research projects.
Administrative Participate in required or assigned committee work including THN, CHMG, Graduate Medical Education, Medical Staff or others.
Developing, in collaboration with leadership, new rotation or education experiences for students and residents.
Institutional Citizenship Work as a part of the larger team improve access, reduce cost, improve quality and promote efficiency and better health outcomes.
This may include engagement in community outreach and attend professional events assist with program development and building professional relationships.
In addition, attention timely and complete documentation, patient satisfaction and referring physician satisfaction are needed by each faculty member.
AHEC Participate in AHEC projects as requested that meet the mission of the NC AHEC Program.

Licensure/Certification/Listing:
Required: Active NC Medical License Board certification in specialty BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Valid Driver's License | If driving Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
