Description

WinnCompanies is searching for an adaptable and experienced Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator to join our team at Evergreen East, a 508-unit affordable residential community in Fairport, NY.The FSS Coordinator will provide financial coaching, case management, and coordination for residents participating in the HUD-funded Family Self‑Sufficiency Program, in addition to assisting with general supportive services for the entire resident population. This position is integral to a place-based service model that aims to broaden residents' access to economic mobility services while supporting long-term housing stability and improving financial outcomes.Please note that the pay range for this position is $23.88 - $26.21 per hour, depending on experience.Additionally, the selected candidate will typically work: Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.Responsibilities:

Coordinate with Property Management, Leasing staff, and resident services team members to identify and recruit potential FSS candidates.Engage residents through proactive, on-site community outreach including events, workshops, and informal touchpoints to build awareness of the FSS program and encourage participation.Conduct intake appointments with prospective participants to assess eligibility, readiness, strengths, barriers, and service needs.Develop an Individual Training and Services Plan (ITSP) with each participant, specifying services such as employment, education, financial counseling, and credit-building.Collaboratively establish timeframes, milestones, and both short-term and long-term goals toward self-sufficiency.Maintain regular meetings with participating families to track progress toward ITSP goals and FSS contract completion.Provide informed financial coaching on topics such as budgeting, savings strategies, credit, and approaches to major purchases.Document participant progress, challenges, and plan updates as required by the program.Maintain accurate records in Connect360 and other required systems.Communicate with the participant's Leasing Officer and Winn's Compliance Department to remain informed of participants' income and household composition changes and FSS escrow savings calculations.Follow up promptly on referrals and coordinate services to help participants achieve their goals.Collaborate with Property Management, Supports & Community Coordinator, and Connected Communities' Economic Mobility Department to integrate FSS program into broader resident services and operations at property.Support Senior Community Coordinator with general resident services, e.g. event planning, resident surveys.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED/ Bachelor's degree.3-5 years of relevant work experience.Experience in resident services, case management, financial coaching, or economic mobility services.Ability to work effectively with diverse resident population on sensitive financial and personal goals.Strong organizational skills and attention to documentation accuracy.Ability to collaborate across teams based onsite and at Headquarters.Ability to develop service or action plans based on documented individual or community needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Community Development, Personal Finance, Financial Planning, or Financial Coaching.Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) or comparable financial coaching certification, or willingness to obtain certification promptly after beginning employment. Maintain accreditation on an ongoing basis.Demonstrated success in partner management, including building and maintaining relationships with external service providers.Experience connecting individuals from diverse populations to multiple community resources.Experience serving populations such as low-income households, individuals with mental health or substance use challenges, survivors of domestic violence, youth, immigrants, English Language Learners, or individuals at risk of homelessness.
