Farm Worker (Part-Time)

Northwest Mississippi Community College is seeking a dependable and hardworking Part-Time Farm Worker to assist with the daily operations and maintenance of the NWCC Farm located on the Senatobia Campus. This position supports the College's agricultural operations through farm maintenance, equipment operation, livestock care, and general grounds upkeep.

Employment Status: Part-Time

• Hourly, non-benefited position
• Schedule may vary based on operational needs and seasonal farm activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to safely operate general farm equipment, including tractors and lawnmowers.
• Knowledge of basic farm operations and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain farm grounds, landscaping, and outdoor areas to ensure a safe and professional appearance.
• Operate tractors, mowers, and other farm implements in support of farm operations.
• Assist with daily cattle management and livestock care activities.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of farm equipment and facilities.
• Assist with general farm projects, repairs, and seasonal activities as needed.
• Follow established safety procedures and operating guidelines.
• Contribute to the overall mission of Northwest Mississippi Community College by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Farm Manager.

• Ability to operate farm machinery safely and effectively.
• Basic knowledge of livestock handling and farm management practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Primarily outdoor work environment.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, farm machinery, livestock, dust, and noise.
• Requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, and other physical activities associated with farm work.
