    What is the Opportunity?

    Reporting directly to the Director, Federal Contracts Solutions, the Federal Contract Manager is responsible for providing accurate and timely commercial and compliance advice for AECON, consistent with their education, training, and experience, all in accordance with home company and customer requirements, policies and procedures.

    Citizenship Requirement:

    This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.

    What Youll Do Here:

    • Active engagement in front-end strategic assessment of bids and proposals, to include identifying significant or unusual risks, including those in the financial, technical or schedule areas while supporting overall program and company objectives
    • Develop customer engagement strategies necessary for successful contract execution and resolution
    • Develop pre-negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of the proposal development process
    • Negotiate directly with customer and industry peers and develop trusting relationships internally and externally
    • Focus on continuously improve the overall quality, capability, and bench strength of the contracts organization
    • Handle all contracts duties resulting in achieving program and business area objectives
    • Lead coordination of any payment issues to ensure compliant and timely payment in support of program objectives
    • Deploy strong interpersonal relationship skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve program objectives
    • Travel domestically as required
    • Assist project staff with the interpretation and practical application of contract documents
    • Assist in formation and administration of contracts with Subcontractors and ensure that required and relevant terms and conditions are flowed down to Subcontractors
    • Act as the point of contact to Client for contractual matters
    • Prepare, develop, send and manage timely contractual correspondence and notices in accordance with specific contractual notice timelines Develop and maintain efficient systems and processes for identifying and capturing any potential commercial issues and change
    • Maintain a current log of all issues, change requests and change orders for each contract
    • Ensure accurate issue files for all contractual/commercial issues are maintained for each contract
    • Provide presentations and workshops, as required by the Supervisor, to the employees with respect to contract administration including, corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines, change and delay management
    • Contribute to the revision and maintenance of Operating Policies and Procedures
    • Obtain the assistance of the appropriate Aecon Legal/Commercial department, as required
    • Other duties as assigned

    What You Bring to the Team:

    • 10 years' experience with a large federal services contractor in the industrial engineering, nuclear or construction industries
    • A Bachelors degree
    • Prefer J.D., M.B.A., or other graduate degree
    • Meticulous attention to detail, strong work ethic and robust organizational skills
    • Experience negotiating and drafting commercial contracts in corporate setting
    • Knowledge of project operations, policies, procedures, and strategic direction
    • Understanding of project planning, scheduling and management
    • Experience dealing with labor obligations and their impact on the Project
    • Ability to grasp technical and commercial issues, understand how they fit within the contractual context, and develop appropriate written positions
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)
    • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
    • Proactive, critical thinker
    • Exceptional planning & time management skills
    • Exceptional decision-making ability and negotiation skills
    • Exceptional knowledge of FAR, DFAR, DEAR
    • Experience with CMMC and Unclassified Controlled Information (CUI) requirements, inclusive of Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI)
    • General knowledge of applicable law and regulatio
