Federal Project Manager

Looking for a home in federal construction where your projects have a real mission behind them? A respected federal general contractor is adding a Federal Project Manager to lead military and government building projects in the Hampton Roads area. You'll own your jobs from preconstruction through turnover, partner closely with the government client, and join a team that gives its project managers room to grow.

What You'll Do

• Lead your projects day to day, owning schedule, budget, quality, safety and client relationships
• Run submittals, RFIs, change orders and contract paperwork in line with USACE and NAVFAC requirements
• Develop and update Primavera P6 schedules and keep the team focused on the critical path
• Manage cost reports, buyout and forecasting, and keep leadership and the owner informed
• Work hand in hand with your superintendent, quality control manager and safety officer to keep the jobsite on track
• Coach assistant project managers and project engineers as they build their careers
• Drive punch lists, closeout documents and turnover so every project finishes strong

What You Bring

• A four-year degree in construction management, engineering or a related field with 3+ years of project management experience, or 5+ years of construction project management experience
• Experience on federal, military or other government projects, with USACE or NAVFAC work preferred
• Familiarity with FAR clauses, federal submittal procedures and RMS/QCS
• OSHA 10 required; CQM-C certification and EM 385-1-1 knowledge are a big plus
• Strong skills in Primavera P6, Excel and project management software
• Clear communication and a steady, team-first approach to solving problems
