Description

Kforce's growing organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area is seeking a detail-oriented Federal Tax Accountant to support U.S. corporate tax compliance, reporting, and tax provision activities. This role offers strong exposure to corporate taxation, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to work closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and auditors. Compensation, strong medical benefits, work/life balance year-round, 401(k), hybrid work schedule. Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to address corporate tax matters and support ongoing compliance initiatives
  • Prepare and reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy of tax balances and supporting documentation
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Support the preparation of consolidated federal corporate income tax filings, including required schedules and supporting workpapers
  • Analyze financial data to identify and document book-to-tax adjustments and prepare related reconciliations
  • Coordinate quarterly estimated tax payments and assist with extension filings as part of the annual tax compliance cycle
  • Provide documentation and analysis in support of external audits and tax provision reviews
  • Respond to tax authority inquiries by gathering information and assisting with audit support as needed
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, special projects, and other tax compliance responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • CPA certification (or progress toward certification) is a plus
  • Experience with tax software preferred
  • Exposure to financial reporting, tax provision, or ERP systems is beneficial

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
