Field Engineer

We are seeking a local Field Engineer to support an active construction project at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, CO. This is a full-time, temporary position (1–2 year project) working day shift, Monday through Friday, offering $25.00–$35.00 per hour (DOE).

The On-Site Field Engineer is responsible for providing technical oversight and engineering support for an active construction and installation project. This role ensures that all installations align with technical specifications and project schedules to prevent downtime. This position requires daily on-site technical coordination with the field team and other internal entities.

Note: This position is strictly on-site. Candidates must be currently located in the Colorado Springs area and available to work on-site Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Track materials from delivery through installation to ensure readiness and accuracy
• Provide field support by assisting crews with sequencing and resolving on-site issues
• Coordinate solutions for missing or damaged materials to avoid project delays
• Deliver regular updates, forecasts, and assist with budget tracking
• Ensure safe material handling and compliance with all site safety standards
• Serve as a liaison between field teams and engineering staff to support project execution

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in field engineering, construction coordination, or similar role
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a construction environment
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and installation schedules
• Experience coordinating with vendors and managing delivery timelines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• Currently located in the Colorado Springs area and able to work full-time on-site
• Drug Screen and Background Check required
