Field Engineer - Commercial Construction

A respected commercial builder in the western Chicago suburbs is looking for a Field Engineer to join its project team. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes being on site, solving problems and learning how great projects come together from the ground up.

What You'll Do

• Support the superintendent and project manager with day-to-day field operations
• Review drawings and specifications, and help resolve field conflicts
• Track RFIs, submittals and as-built documentation from the field
• Coordinate layout, inspections and quality checks with trade partners
• Keep daily reports, photos and logs accurate and up to date
• Help promote a safe, organized and productive jobsite

What You Bring

• 1–3 years of field experience with a general contractor or construction manager (internships count)
• A degree in construction management, engineering or a related field, or equal experience
• Ability to read construction documents and a working knowledge of building systems
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Comfort with Procore, Bluebeam or similar software

What We Offer

• Pay range: $70,000–$90,000 per year, based on experience
