Here, your growth powers our success.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Field Engineer – Construction Layout to support our HVAC and plumbing construction projects in the field. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role focused on performing precise layout work and ensuring installations align with project plans and specifications.This position plays a key role in bridging field operations and project teams, helping drive accuracy, efficiency, and quality across our mechanical construction projects.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform construction layout using Trimble/total station equipment for HVAC and plumbing systemsInterpret construction drawings, BIM models, and shop drawingsVerify field installations align with design plans and resolve layout discrepanciesCoordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Managers to support field executionAssist with as-built documentation and field measurementsIdentify and communicate design conflicts or field issues in real timeSupport layout for sleeves, embeds, underground systems, and equipment placementEnsure accuracy and compliance with project specifications and safety standardsQualificationsExperience in construction layout, surveying, or mechanical field work (HVAC/plumbing)Hands-on experience with Trimble, total station, or similar layout tools preferredAbility to read and interpret construction and mechanical drawingsFamiliarity with BIM/VDC tools (AutoCAD, Revit) is a plusStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, field environmentWhat We OfferCompetitive pay based on experienceOpportunities for career growth into Project Management or Field LeadershipExposure to large-scale commercial mechanical projects, including:Data centersMultifamily and high-rise buildingsHealthcare and institutional facilitiesA supportive, team-oriented environment focused on development and successWhy VMGAt VMG, you won't just perform layout-you'll play a critical role in ensuring our projects are built right the first time.
