Position Overview
Rita Staffing is seeking an experienced, hands-on Field Engineer for an established company specializing in technical equipment and engineered systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being in the field, solving mechanical challenges, working directly with customers, and managing projects from concept through completion.
This is not a traditional desk engineering position! The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, technical troubleshooting abilities, excellent customer service skills, and the confidence to work independently in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and engineered systems in the field, working alongside customers and service technicians.
Provide technical support and resolve equipment and system performance issues.
Design systems, size components, and develop P&IDs.
Coordinate engineering projects from initial planning through completion, ensuring schedules and budgets are met.
Develop cost estimates, technical proposals, and project quotes.
Partner with sales, engineering, and service teams to deliver customer solutions.
Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, drawings, and operating manuals.
Communicate directly with customers regarding technical issues, project progress, and service needs.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, processes, and overall customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering backgrounds welcomed.
5+ years of engineering experience preferred, ideally involving mechanical equipment, industrial systems, or technical field service.
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting abilities.
Experience working directly with customers and resolving technical challenges.
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
Equipment design, system sizing, and P&ID experience preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated employment stability and progressive technical experience.
Comfortable spending significant time in the field rather than behind a desk.
