Field Power Systems & Forklift Service Technician — Phoenix, AZ
Naumann Hobbs Material Handling
Not a forklift operator role. This is a mobile field and shop technician position focused on heavy-duty truck and forklift maintenance and repair.
A day in your boots
Sunrise in Phoenix. Your company vehicle is loaded, your mobile phone pings with the day’s service calls, and you’re on the move—supporting contractors, municipalities, and fleet operators who can’t afford downtime. The first stop is an electric forklift with an intermittent hydraulic issue; you diagnose, repair, and document the work. By midday, you’re tackling a diesel engine drivability concern on a yard truck. In the afternoon, you collaborate with teammates at the shop to troubleshoot a complex electrical fault on a high-capacity lift. Every call you finish keeps the Valley’s material handling operations running strong.
What you’ll take on
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on trucks, forklifts, and heavy equipment across gas, diesel, and electric platforms
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults to restore performance and ensure safety
- Execute inspections and functional tests to catch issues before they become failures
- Accurately log repairs, parts usage, and maintenance actions in a timely manner
- Respond to both field and shop service calls as assigned
- Partner with peers to drive reliability improvements and reduce unplanned downtime
- Keep up with evolving forklift and material handling technologies and best practices
- Follow OSHA standards and company policies; maintain a clean, organized work area
