Field Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Konik is partnering with an established specialty commercial construction organization seeking a Field Project Manager to support large-scale construction projects throughout the Midwest and nationally. This role is ideal for a construction professional who enjoys being close to the work, solving problems in the field, and serving as a key point of communication between project teams, customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership.
The Field Project Manager will serve as the company’s eyes and ears on active jobsites, helping ensure projects stay coordinated, issues are addressed quickly, and field execution aligns with overall project goals. This is a great opportunity for a Superintendent, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Coordinator with strong commercial construction experience who is looking to take the next step into project management while remaining highly involved in field operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting large-scale commercial construction projects, including complex buildings, stadiums, airports, healthcare facilities, or other high-profile projects. Candidates with backgrounds in glazing, steel, structural systems, specialty contracting, or commercial general construction are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary field representative for assigned commercial construction projects.
- Provide daily jobsite support, coordination, and communication between customers, subcontractors, superintendents, and internal project teams.
- Identify and resolve field issues, remove project roadblocks, and escalate concerns when needed.
- Monitor project progress, schedule impacts, quality, and overall field execution.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure field activities align with project requirements and expectations.
- Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Attend jobsite meetings and provide updates regarding progress, challenges, and upcoming activities.
- Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to help identify potential issues.
- Support coordination of materials, manpower, logistics, and installation activities.
- Maintain accurate field documentation, reports, and project updates.
- Travel regularly to support projects across assigned markets.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
- Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction projects.
- Previous experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Project Manager, Field Project Manager, or similar construction leadership role.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, coordination, and field operations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take ownership of field challenges.
