Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for automation and travel? Do you thrive on variety, love troubleshooting, and enjoy being the go-to expert when machines need a brain and a heartbeat? If so, we want to hear from you!
We’re looking for a Field Service Controls Technician to join our dynamic Service Team. In this role, you’ll be the face of our company at customer sites across North America and beyond - installing, starting up, and supporting cutting-edge automated machinery in the field.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead the installation and startup of our high-tech machines at customer facilities.
  • Travel to various customer sites to troubleshoot, repair, and commission equipment.
  • Perform electrical diagnostics and PLC troubleshooting on a wide range of automation equipment.
  • Provide remote support via phone and online tools to assist customers and fellow technicians.
  • Collaborate with engineering on machine runoffs and pre-shipment checks.
  • Train customers and junior technicians on machine operation and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare clear, detailed service reports after field visits.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing in-shop builds for potential field issues.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Associate degree or trade school certification in Electrical Engineering, or 2–3 years of hands-on experience in automation, material handling, or machine controls.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical systems and PLC programming/diagnostics.
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to clearly explain technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 65–75%, including some international trips.
Physical & Work Environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, and work in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Expect hands-on work: standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and getting into tight spaces when needed.
Perks of the Role
  • Variety! No two days are the same—from machine startups to customer training and everything in between.
  • Travel opportunities across North America (and occasional international trips).
  • Be part of a tight-knit, expert team that's shaping the future of industrial automation.
  • Develop your skills and grow into leadership or advanced technical roles.
