We’re looking for a Field Service Controls Technician to join our dynamic Service Team. In this role, you’ll be the face of our company at customer sites across North America and beyond - installing, starting up, and supporting cutting-edge automated machinery in the field. What You’ll Be Doing - Lead the installation and startup of our high-tech machines at customer facilities.
- Travel to various customer sites to troubleshoot, repair, and commission equipment.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and PLC troubleshooting on a wide range of automation equipment.
- Provide remote support via phone and online tools to assist customers and fellow technicians.
- Collaborate with engineering on machine runoffs and pre-shipment checks.
- Train customers and junior technicians on machine operation and troubleshooting.
- Prepare clear, detailed service reports after field visits.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing in-shop builds for potential field issues.
What You Bring to the Table - Associate degree or trade school certification in Electrical Engineering, or 2–3 years of hands-on experience in automation, material handling, or machine controls.
- Solid knowledge of electrical systems and PLC programming/diagnostics.
- Strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Excellent communication skills—able to clearly explain technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.
- Willingness and ability to travel 65–75%, including some international trips.
Physical & Work Environment - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, and work in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Expect hands-on work: standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and getting into tight spaces when needed.
