    Position Summary

    The Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining and servicing inverters and associated capital equipment to ensure maximum system performance and 100% customer satisfaction. This role requires strong electrical troubleshooting capabilities, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work independently in field environments.

    This position requires up to 70% travel, including some nights and weekends.

    Key Responsibilities

    Perform on-site installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of inverter systems and related equipment

    Conduct depot-based repair, testing, and re-certification of inverter units

    Execute remote diagnostics and provide technical support via phone and email

    Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and develop corrective action plans

    Conduct site audits and recommend reliability improvements

    Execute field and office performance testing, failure analysis, and repair planning

    Provide multi-level customer training and technical guidance

    Prepare detailed service documentation, audit reports, and project progress reports

    Support engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams with technical expertise

    Act as technical liaison between FIMER Product Group Solar and customers

    Support and oversee third-party field personnel when required

    Maintain strict adherence to safety standards and procedures

    Required Qualifications

    3-5 years of industrial field service experience (power electronics preferred)

    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent military/technical training

    OR Associate's degree with 3+ years of electronic equipment servicing experience

    OR High School Diploma/GED with 12+ years of high-voltage electronic servicing experience

    AC/DC power conversion and control experience

    Strong knowledge of electronics, mechanical principles, and AC/DC power distribution

    Ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic circuits

    Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

    Experience configuring and repairing communication hardware and software

    Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Proficiency with standard PC-based work programs and reporting tools

    Ability to lift and move objects up to 70 lbs

    Valid driver's license and clean Motor Vehicle Report

    Ability to travel up to 70%

    Preferred Qualifications

    Medium Voltage (MV) background

    Utility-scale solar or power electronics experience

    Technical service or field engineering background with significant on-site experience

    Communication systems knowledge
