What we need

TheMicro-Fulfillment Operationsorganizationisresponsibleforsupporting,maintaining, andoptimizingSymbotic'sautomated fulfillment systemslocatedwithin our customers' retailstores. Our team works directly in live operationalenvironments to ensure systemsoperatesafely, efficiently, and reliably whileenablingcustomerstomeet their fulfillment goals. Field Service Engineers serve as the frontline technical experts, providing troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational support while collaborating closely with customers,operationsteams,andengineeringpartnerstodrivecontinuousimprovement and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Whatyou’lldo
Monitorsystemperformance,alarms,operationalmetrics,andreliabilitytrends across assigned customer locations.
Analyze recurring issuesand lead structured root cause investigationsusing methodologies such as 8D problem solving.
Serve as the primary technicalescalation point for complex equipment, controls, software, and system performance issues.
PartnerwithHardware,Software,SystemsEngineering,andOperationsteamstoidentifyand implement corrective actions.
Provide advanced troubleshooting support for PLC-controlled systems, robotics, conveyors, controls, and automated equipment.
Developandexecutereliabilityimprovementinitiativesthatincreasesystemuptime and operational efficiency.
Support customercommunicationsduring significant operational events and system disruptions.
Reviewmaintenanceactivitiesandsystemdatatoidentifyopportunitiesfor continuousimprovement.
Mentortechniciansandsupporttechnicaltraininginitiativesacrossthenetwork.
Assistwith site launches, upgrades, process improvements, and network-wide operational initiatives.
Maintaintechnicaldocumentation,reliabilityreports,andmaintenancerecords.
Ensurecompliancewithallsafetystandards,policies,andprocedures.
EnsurecompliancewithOSHA,LOTO,electricalsafety,machineguarding,conveyorsafety,andSymboticsafety standards.
Whatyou’llneed
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimumof2yearsofhands-onexperiencesupportingautomatedsystemsinwarehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or material handling environments.
Advancedexperiencetroubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, conveyors, robotic systems, and electro-mechanicalequipment.
Advancedability todiagnoseand repairelectricalcircuitry, controlpanels, motors, sensors, and automation hardware.
Experiencesupportingliveoperationalenvironmentswhereequipmentuptime directlyimpactsproduction or fulfillment operations.
Strongunderstandingofpreventivemaintenance,breakdownresponse,and equipment recovery procedures.
Provenabilitytoleadtechnicaldiscussionsandmaintainprofessionalismincustomer-facing and high-pressure operational situations.
WorkingknowledgeofCMMSsystemsand maintenancedocumentationpractices.
Familiarity withlockout/tagout procedures, electricalsafety practices, machine guarding, working at heights, and conveyor safety standards.
OSHA, NFPA 70E, electrical safety, or vendor-specific automation certifications are a plus.
Ability totravelregionally withinMassachusetts(30–40%)and occasionally across North America to support training and technical initiatives.
OurEnvironment
There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure.
You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.
Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 0° F to 80° F Fahrenheit.
If the site location is in construction, you willbe requiredto wear proper PPE (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
Frequent ability tosafely and efficiently lift items weighingup to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs.
Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and isfrequentlyto walk and reach with hands and arms.
The employeeis routinely required towork at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be capable of occasional and/or continuous feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movement using both hands and feet. Mustcomply withall safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lockouttag out safety protocols and fall protection safetyprotocols.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $71,000.00 - $97,900.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
