Field Service Engineer/Technician

Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing packaging manufacturer and distributor with more than three decades of industry experience. They are seeking a hands-on, self-motivated Field Service Technician/Engineer to support continued growth in Eastern PA and NJ. This individual will play a key role in the installation, demonstration, and ongoing support of packaging equipment and systems, working closely with both customers and internal teams to ensure successful implementation and long-term performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform installation and setup of packaging equipment and systems at customer sites
• Support product demonstrations both on-site and at internal facilities
• Partner with sales and technical teams to support system implementation and customer success
• Assist in light fabrication and customization of equipment components as needed
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners on system design, including semi- and fully-automated solutions
• Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and after-sales service support
• Assist with installation and servicing of additional packaging equipment as required

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in a hands-on technical, maintenance, or field service role
• Experience working with packaging equipment systems, including installation and service
• Mechanical aptitude with basic fabrication skills (cutting, drilling, modifying components)
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and hydraulics
• Experience with equipment setup, basic programming, and troubleshooting
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers and internal teams
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Additional Preferences (not required):

• Technical degree or formal training
• Experience with automated packaging systems or system design
• Exposure to additional packaging equipment such as taping or form-fill-seal machinery
