    Job Description

    What You'll Do

    As a Field Service Specialist - Process Analytics, you will apply your technical expertise to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Metrohm process analytical instrumentation throughout your assigned territory. You will serve as a trusted partner to customers, helping resolve technical, application, and product-related issues while ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.

    This position is based in the Newark, New Jersey area and supports customers throughout the Northeastern U.S. states. Frequent travel within the territory is required.

    Field Service & Technical Support

    • Install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Metrohm process analytical systems.

    • Diagnose and resolve customer instrumentation, application, and product-related issues.

    • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, upgrades, and system optimization activities.

    • Conduct equipment testing and verification to ensure optimal performance.

    • Review schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and service documentation to support troubleshooting and repairs.

    Customer Support & Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through responsive and professional service.

    • Understand customer processes, operational requirements, and application needs.

    • Evaluate customer challenges and recommend practical technical solutions.

    • Deliver refresher training and operational support to end users as needed.

    • Act as a trusted advisor to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term success.

    Technical Documentation & Continuous Improvement

    • Investigation, document, and track service activities, equipment issues, and application concerns using Metrohm service management tools.

    • Maintain accurate service records and report documentation.

    • Identify opportunities to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and customer experience.

    • Support quality initiatives and best practices across the service organization.

    Leadership & Mentorship

    • Mentor and support developing Field Service Specialists.

    • Share technical knowledge, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices across the organization.

    • Assist with onboarding and technical development initiatives as needed.

     

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Associate degree in Process Analytical Instrumentation, Instrumentation Technology, Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Minimum four (4) years of experience supporting process analytical instrumentation or industrial instrumentation systems.

    • Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical diagrams, and service documentation.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Ability to work independently in customer-facing environments.

    Preferred

    Experience supporting process analyzers and instrumentation within:

    • Semiconductor manufacturing

    • Refining and petrochemical facilities

    • Chemical manufacturing

    • Industrial process environments

    • Strong chemistry background and understanding of analytical measurement principles.

    • Experience with analyzer calibration, process optimization, root cause analysis, and complex technical troubleshooting.

    • OSHA Area Council Basic Safety Training certification or comparable industrial safety training.
