This position requires a mechanically skilled professional who is comfortable working independently, traveling on short notice, and building strong customer relationships.
Job Description:
Perform repairs, troubleshooting, and service on size reduction equipment at customer locations.
Travel frequently throughout the Midwest, U.S., and Canada by air and automobile, sometimes with minimal notice.
Support granulator rebuild department projects and receive initial product training.
Provide office-based customer support for granulator and size reduction equipment issues when not traveling.
Communicate with customers on-site, by phone, and by email to diagnose and resolve service issues.
Complete detailed field service reports following each service call.
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other departments to resolve technical and customer issues.
Maintain positive customer relationships and represent the company professionally at customer facilities.
Manage multiple service projects and priorities simultaneously.
Qualifications:
2+ years of field service and repair experience with heavy equipment, preferably granulators or plastics industry equipment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Basic electrical troubleshooting experience.
Knowledge of the plastics industry and related process-control equipment, including recyclers.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
Previous experience working directly with customers in a field-service environment.
Excellent customer-service and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Ability to learn and utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to travel frequently throughout the U.S. and Canada, including short-notice travel.
