Summary

  • This position is responsible for performing basic maintenance functions, procedures, activities, and
  • responsibilities associated with working on gas compression packages. Duties include learning from
  • and assisting other technicians with servicing, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning of
  • both internal combustion and electric-driven compressor packages. The purpose of the Service
  • Technician I level is to acquire proficiency in performing all maintenance actions with direct
  • supervision that will allow for progression to the Senior Field Service Technician level.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties

  • All duties and responsibilities may include a significant amount of multi-state travel at short
  • notice, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Always represents the organization in a professional manner while providing outstanding
  • customer service aligned with company values.
  • Responsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets, and
  • other necessary paperwork daily.
  • Assists in timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls on gas
  • compressor packages in the field under adverse conditions.
  • Assists with response to recurring problems and emergency services as needed.
  • Assists with installation of new units, including commissioning and start-up inspections.
  • Assists with mechanical inspections using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic
  • diagnostic equipment, and other specialty tools.
  • Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation and effectively perform emergency repairs.
  • Must recognize and comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) rules and policies
  • applicable to each location.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); some vocational/technical trainin preferred.
  • 3–5 years of applicable experience required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and post-offer physical testing.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to perform complex service and maintenance tasks.
  • Must have own tools (excluding specialty or OEM-specific diagnostic equipment).
  • Ability to perform monthly preventive maintenance and minor repairs independently.
  • Ability to provide preventive and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression and/or production equipment at customer sites.
  • Ability to identify and stop unsafe work practices that may impact personnel or the environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to learn in both hands-on and classroom environments.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Basic understanding of gas and oil properties, conditions, and theories.
  • Strong understanding of tools used to install, maintain, and operate gas compressors and production equipment (e.g., dial indicators, laser alignment tools, feeler gauges, digital voltohm meters, hydraulic torquing equipment).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team to improve work processes.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and stretch over and under pipeline equipment.
  • Ability to work in various climates and temperatures while performing equipment repairs.
  • Ability to assistin field operations as needed.
  • Comp flexibility: Some wiggle room on salary depending on experience

  • Mustreport to branch daily
  • $1,000/month living allowance
  • Relocation option:
  • Up to $10,000 lump sum
  • Paid 50% upfront, 50% after proof of new address
  • Still eligible for $1,000/month living allowance

Rotational option (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off):

  • Can live anywhere in the U.S.
  • No living allowance orrelocation bonus
  • $51/day per diem ($25.50 half day)
  • $500 per hitch fortravel
  • 8 paid holidays
