General Summary: Commissions and services Alkar product lines. Conducts on-site customer operational and maintenance equipment training and start-up.
Principal Accountabilities:
Services Alkar product lines. Documents all service-related activities.
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or detailed plans to perform testing, checkout modifications and troubleshooting on Alkar equipment.
Assists Controls Department in modifying and servicing custom PLC control systems.
Assists in developing methods or actions to remedy malfunctions for Alkar product lines.
Conducts on-site customer training including proper operational and equipment maintenance procedures of equipment.
Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and service issues.
Download and configure programs for HMI and PLC systems
Assign and update system IP addresses
Configure VFD parameters within control programs
Copy, package, and distribute programs to Alkar for implementation
Performs additional assignments as requested by Service Manager.

Interacts directly with customers.
Services seven to eight different Alkar product lines.
Carries out assignments that vary from semi-routine to complex in nature with minimal immediate supervision.
Description of physical working environment:
Regularly works from a sitting or standing position while working on computers.
When traveling may encounter working areas in both refrigerated and heated environments
Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds or more with proper assistance and/or rigging equipment.
Extensive Domestic and International Travel is required
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Two-year associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or related technical training.
Minimum of three to four years trouble-shooting experience in manufacturing equipment including commissioning and field service experience.
Good analytical and problem solving, verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers.
Previous experience with air balance, temperature control or commissioning of gas heated equipment is helpful.
