Field Service Technician — Opportunity to Advance to Lead

Lint-X Dryer Vent & Airflow Services

Lint-X is a leading professional airflow and dryer vent service company serving high-end residential homes, luxury condos, multi-unit communities, and commercial properties throughout Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, and Fairfield Counties.

We are building a professional field operations team focused on technical expertise, safety, and excellent customer service.

This is a hands-on position with a path to greater technical skill and responsibility. You’ll begin with paid training, gain experience working independently, and have opportunities to advance into more complex service work and field leadership.

If you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, learning technical skills, and taking pride in high-quality work, this may be the career opportunity you’ve been looking for.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Compensation: $28 Per Hour

Our paid training prepares you to work independently. After completing initial training, technicians typically gain experience performing routine dryer vent cleaning in multi-unit communities. Pay remains at $28 per hour during this phase as you build field experience, competence, and consistency.

Advancement opportunities to $35+ per hour
are based on demonstrated skills, performance, and progression into more complex technical work and greater leadership responsibilities. Completing initial training does not automatically result in a pay increase.

We also offer:

  • Overtime opportunities
  • SIMPLE IRA with employer match
  • Paid holidays and paid time off
  • Fully equipped company vehicle
  • Company tools and cell phone
  • Full-time, year-round work
  • Paid technical training
  • Structured systems and professional operations
  • Strong team-oriented culture
  • Leadership invested in training and development

What You’ll Do

Your assignments will progress with your training and demonstrated ability.

During training and your initial independent field work, you will:

  • Perform dryer vent cleaning, primarily in multi-unit communities
  • Inspect vent systems and identify visible restrictions, damage, and improper configurations
  • Operate professional rotary cleaning systems and related equipment
  • Follow established safety procedures and service standards
  • Communicate professionally with customers and property managers
  • Document work using company software and photos
  • Manage assigned jobs and recognize when to seek technical support

As you develop advanced skills and take on greater responsibility, opportunities include:

  • Assessing and troubleshooting more complex airflow and dryer vent system issues
  • Performing vent rerouting, repairs, and system modifications
  • Handling more technically demanding residential and commercial assignments
  • Leading job execution and coordinating field work
  • Helping train and support other technicians

This role combines technical field service, customer interaction, mechanical work, and problem-solving.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Are mechanically inclined
  • Take pride in quality workmanship
  • Enjoy working with their hands
  • Are dependable and accountable
  • Communicate professionally
  • Are comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Want to master a specialized trade
  • Thrive in structured, high-standard environments
  • Want long-term career growth rather than “just a job”

You should also be physically capable of:

  • Working on ladders and pitched roofs
  • Working in attics, crawlspaces, and confined areas
  • Lifting equipment and tools
  • Performing active, hands-on field work daily

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is strongly preferred:

  • HVAC
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical trades
  • Construction
  • Chimney services
  • Appliance installation
  • Duct cleaning
  • Roofing
  • Service technician roles
  • Skilled trades

Basic familiarity with tools, power tools, appliance safety, and mechanical systems is highly valued.

Paid Technical Training & Development

We provide paid training through a structured combination of classroom instruction and supervised field work alongside experienced technicians.

Initial training focuses on:

  • Dryer vent cleaning methods and equipment
  • Dryer vent system fundamentals
  • Recognizing fire hazards, restrictions, and improper vent configurations
  • Appliance and electrical safety
  • Safe jobsite practices
  • Customer communication and service delivery
  • Work documentation and job management

After initial training, you’ll build experience and consistency through independent work, primarily on routine multi-unit assignments.

Further training supports advancement into:

  • Advanced airflow troubleshooting
  • Airflow system design and performance
  • Vent rerouting, repairs, and system modifications
  • More complex equipment and cleaning methods
  • Jobsite leadership and workflow management

Advancement depends on demonstrated readiness and the responsibilities you take on.

Schedule Expectations

  • Full-time daytime schedule
  • Typical start time between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM
  • Occasional long days depending on project scope
  • Occasional evenings or Saturday work as needed
  • Overtime opportunities available

We operate with a high standard of service and professionalism. Our customers expect thorough, quality work—and so do we.

This Role Is Ideal for Someone Who:

  • Wants a skilled, hands-on career
  • Enjoys technical problem-solving
  • Likes working in the field rather than behind a desk
  • Takes pride in professionalism and craftsmanship
  • Understands that expertise develops through training and experience
  • Wants to become part of a respected, high-performing team
  • Is looking for long-term opportunity and upward mobility

If you’re reliable, mechanically inclined, and ready to build a career with a company that values professionalism, technical expertise, and quality work, we want to hear from you.
