Field Service Technician

BigFoot Staffing is hiring a Field Service Mechanic for our client’s established service team in Portland, OR. With more than 75 years in the industry, this company has built a strong reputation and is looking for reliable, self-sufficient mechanics who want a long-term home.

If you enjoy figuring out why equipment isn’t working and getting it running again, this role could be a great fit. You’ll repair and maintain commercial air compressors, pumps, and vacuum systems at customer sites.

Essential Job Duties:

• Use sketches, blueprints, and manuals to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Diagnose problems using tools and a systematic troubleshooting approach.
• Inspect, listen to, and disassemble machinery to identify malfunctions.
• Measure and inspect parts for wear or misalignment.
• Apply knowledge of electrical circuits, mechanics, and pneumatics.
• Test and replace faulty electrical components.
• Troubleshoot PLCs using diagnostic tools.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Maintain your company vehicle.
• Keep your truck’s parts and tools organized and stocked.
• Complete paperwork and timecards promptly.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles.
• EPA Universal certification and refrigeration desired.
• Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
• Availability for some overtime and occasional overnight travel.
• Reliability and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to recognize common mechanical and electrical components.
• Strong system troubleshooting skills.
• Good customer service and communication skills.

Physical Demands:

• Lift 10–100 pounds.
• Perform a variety of physical activities while servicing industrial equipment.

• $35–$43 per hour.
