Field Service Technician

Payrate: $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
 
Summary:
The candidate must possess mechanical and technical skills, be proficient with computers, and have the ability to enter data and maintain records.
 
Responsibilities

• Thoroughly understand and apply the FTNA door adjustment procedure.
• Represent FVR in front of the rail car builder.
• Assist the rail car builder and occasionally the transit authority with debugging and troubleshooting FTNA systems as per contractual agreements.
• Provide support during the car commissioning and warranty phases at the transit authority location and rail car assembly plant in other locations as required.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on FTNA systems.
• Confirm problems identified by the rail car builder.

 
Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Technical certification(s) are an asset.
• At least 2 years of experience working as a technician or equivalent.
• Experience in Mass Transit or Rail is valuable.
• Technical training in both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Valid driver’s license.

 
Skills

• Technical competence in both electrical & mechanical systems.
• Ability to lead temporary client projects is an asset.
• Integrity, honesty, and accountability.
• Ability to work unsupervised in transit authority locations.
• Strong knowledge of PCs/laptops and MS Excel.
• Ability to troubleshoot using a laptop as a tool.
• Ability to perform software downloads.
• Strong mechanical aptitudes.

 
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $30.00 - $35.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
