Kitchen Appliance Service Technician – Hot Side (Field Service)

Location: Manhattan & NYC Boroughs

Salary: $30-$40/hr

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Hot-Side Kitchen Appliance Service Technician to support commercial clients throughout Manhattan and the NYC boroughs. This is a field service role focused on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial cooking equipment in restaurants, hotels, institutional kitchens, and foodservice facilities.

The ideal technician is customer-focused, technically strong, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced NYC environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair hot-side commercial kitchen equipment, including:
• Gas & electric ranges
• Ovens (convection, deck, combi)
• Fryers
• Griddles & charbroilers
• Steamers & kettles
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency service calls in the field
• Troubleshoot electrical, gas, and mechanical issues efficiently
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals
• Communicate professionally with kitchen staff, managers, and clients
• Accurately document service work, parts used, and time on work orders
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory
• Adhere to safety standards, gas codes, and NYC regulations

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience servicing commercial hot-side kitchen equipment
• Strong electrical and gas troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently in a field service environment
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• EPA certification a plus (not required for hot side)
• Factory training or CFESA certification a plus
• Comfortable traveling daily throughout Manhattan and boroughs
