Field Service Technician

SMV Recruiting is seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Field Service Technician for a well-established commercial equipment service company in the Syracuse, NY area. Our client installs, maintains and repairs commercial kitchen and foodservice equipment for customers across Central New York, and they're adding a technician who enjoys being out in the field every day solving problems. The ideal candidate has an HVAC background, plumbing experience, and takes pride in getting equipment back up and running the right way. Full-time, direct hire, with a company truck provided for the workday. Pay is $23–$32/hr based on experience.

Responsibilities

· Install, maintain and repair commercial kitchen and foodservice equipment, such as beverage dispensers, ice machines, dish machines, coffee/brewing equipment, refrigeration units and other small-motor equipment (pumps, fans, mixers, disposals)

· Troubleshoot equipment issues on-site and get customers back up and running

· Start each day at the warehouse, review your service calls, and head out to customer locations

· Drive a company truck to customer sites within about 100 miles of Syracuse

· Work mostly mechanically, with very little electrical

Qualifications

· HVAC experience

· Plumbing experience; carpentry is a plus

· Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools

· Able to install, troubleshoot and repair equipment independently

· Clean driving record

· Able to pass a drug screen

· Comfortable traveling to customer sites within about 100 miles of Syracuse
