Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Services Technician to support the installation, deployment, operation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure within hyperscale and enterprise data center environments.
The selected candidate will perform rack-and-stack operations, server and network equipment installations, structured copper and fiber cabling, equipment provisioning, connectivity testing, and routine infrastructure maintenance.
This position is ideal for technicians with hands-on experience in data center operations, telecommunications, structured cabling, field services, or IT infrastructure support. The successful candidate must be capable of independently executing standard installation and operational tasks while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and workplace safety.
Primary Responsibilities
Data Center Equipment Installation: Independently install and deploy servers, network devices, storage systems, and related infrastructure according to approved engineering designs, installation documentation, and operational procedures.
Rack-and-Stack Operations: Perform equipment mounting, rack installation, hardware placement, and infrastructure configuration within data center environments. Ensure equipment is properly installed, secured, and aligned with technical specifications.
Structured Cabling & Connectivity: Install, route, terminate, and organize copper and fiber-optic cabling. Ensure proper cable dressing, labeling, routing, and management in accordance with established installation and quality standards.
Power & Equipment Connectivity: Install rack-mounted Power Distribution Units (PDUs), connect equipment to designated power sources, and verify power connectivity and out-of-band (OOB) management connections.
Equipment Provisioning & Testing: Perform hardware component installations, equipment provisioning, basic continuity testing, fiber verification, connectivity checks, and standard equipment activation procedures.
Infrastructure Maintenance & Support: Execute Moves, Adds, Changes, and Disconnects (MACD) activities, along with Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) replacements, following approved operational procedures.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate installation records, testing results, inventory updates, equipment details, and as-built documentation. Ensure all completed work is properly documented and reported.
Issue Identification & Escalation: Identify installation discrepancies, design-related concerns, equipment failures, operational issues, and potential safety risks. Escalate unresolved technical concerns to senior technicians or site management.
Safety & Quality Compliance: Follow established data center safety procedures, installation standards, operational guidelines, and customer requirements. Maintain a clean and organized working environment while ensuring all assigned activities meet quality expectations.
