Position Overview
Basic skill level in manual labor, general mechanic, general construction, or water and wastewater collection systems maintenance occupation. Under close supervision, receives training to perform skilled and manual work related to the construction, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater collections systems.
Summary of Job Duties
FIELD SERVICES WORKER-ENTRY SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES
Receives training and assists in operating equipment such as combination vacuum/high pressure sewer cleaning trucks, hydro excavation machines, sewer cleaning easement machine, crane style truck, sewer rodder, golf cart, ATV utility vehicle, various size dump trucks, and various style loaders with associated attachments used in the construction and maintenance of water and sewer assets.
Receives training and assists with hydraulic tools, water loss, smoke/dye, acoustic data gathering equipment, air hammers, tapping/valve insertion machines, powered hand tools, and other related equipment.
Receives training in setting up work plans and daily crew tasks; participates with work crews in the installation, maintenance, or replacement of water or sewer lines and components. Provides technical assistance as needed and helps ensures the safety of the crew and general public on-site. Assists in various types of restoration work, including pavement, concrete, manholes, and lawns, returning them to their original condition.
Responds to on-site customer complaints regarding water or sewer service issues; prepares daily electronic records and reports. Performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment, requests servicing and repairs as needed, and completes inspections, inventory lists, and associated documentation for equipment and materials. (Performs Related Duties as Required)

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
FIELD SERVICES WORKER - ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED equivalent. At least one (1) year of experience working in manual labor or general construction or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training or experience in construction or utility-related field. Must pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam. One (1) year of sewer or water systems construction and maintenance experience is preferred.
FIELD SERVICES WORKER QUALIFICATIONS:
Equivalent to high school diploma; at least two (2) years of experience working as a manual laborer, general mechanic, general construction and at least one (1) year of experience in sewer or water systems construction and maintenance, including one (1) year of experience in the operation and routine maintenance of the indicated equipment; or equivalent combination of education, certification, training or experience in construction/utility-related field. Must main a current, valid State of Ohio Commercial Drivers License (CDL - A) with tanker endorsements; must pass Department of Transportation physical exam; must take the Operator Training Committee of Ohio (OTCO) Class (all new hires) within twelve (12) months of hire.
Supplemental Information
Driving Requirement: Must have a current valid Ohio drivers license with an acceptable driving record and proof of insurance.
FOR FIELD SERVICES WORKER-ENTRY: Must pass the County's practical driving test and obtain temporary CDL within probationary period; complete formal CDL training and obtain a CDL-A with tanker endorsements within twelve (12) months of hire.
Training and Development:
Must maintain CDL licensure.

Seasonal Employees: Benefits include Sick Leave accrued at 4.6 hours for every eighty 80 hours in active
pay status. Seasonal employees scheduled to work 40 hours during their period of employment will accrue vacation in the same manner as regular full-time employees and can use their vacation after completion of twenty-six (26) bi-weekly pay periods in active pay status. Part-time Seasonal employees (scheduled to work less than 40 hours) do not accrue vacation.
Intermittent and Temporary Employees: Long-Term Sick Leave accrual is based on hours worked.
