About the job

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it"s modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you"ll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You"ll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is changing the way the world accesses compute power. As global compute capacity rapidly shifts to the public cloud, GCP delivers virtualized compute, big data/analytics, and machine learning tools to its customers at an unparalleled scale and speed, exposing Google's infrastructure to external customers. GCP is one of the fastest growing product areas at Google.

Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team supports the Product, Engineering, and Operations teams that build and sell GCP products. Within Geo Expansion Finance, we oversee new product launches, data center launch planning, and long range planning for existing infrastructure (including Google sites, third-party sites, and networking infrastructure), and more.

We are an integral partner and strategic advisor to the Cloud leadership team, advising on how to invest resources to grow a strong and sustainable business.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $116000 - $167000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional leadership to identify new global GCP region opportunities, executing end-to-end financial blueprints, profit and loss modeling, and infrastructure cost analyses to enable successful market entries.
  • Guide annual data center target-setting aligned with Sales and Product revenue plans, delivering deep quarterly financial diligence and performance reports to leadership.
  • Conduct geospatial bench marking against top hyperscalers and integrate market trends (e.g., AI infrastructure, energy costs) to refine long-term forecasting models and support investor narratives.
  • Modernize finance workflows by leveraging AI tools to automate agreement modeling, region-level revenue/margin forecasting, and the mitigation of structural financial risks.
