    Description

    Amazon is hiring a highly effective Finance Manager to partner with the Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) lab in San Francisco on building practical AI that can actually do things for us and make our customers more productive, empowered, and fulfilled. The role will be the local CFO with daily interactions with leaders from science, software development, and product teams. This team is really excited about the work in combining large language models (LLMs) with reinforcement learning (RL) to solve reasoning and planning, learned world models, and generalizing agents to physical environments. If you want to apply your financial acumen to deliver insights and drive high-velocity decision making to help shape how AI agents perform real-world actions, learn from human feedback, self-course-correct, and infer our goals then this role is for you!

    A successful candidate will love to learn and be curious and dive deep to understand and identify business trends, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve and prioritize. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as the ability to work autonomously with a proven work ethic and track record of delivering results.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Build and maintain in depth knowledge across key business areas by staying current on initiatives, goals, business challenges and opportunities spanning a wide surface area for the SF research lab and product team
    • Own financial planning cycles and month end close with a focus on data investments, AWS compute usage, and employee resourcing to support rapidly evolving business requirements
    • Partner with the business to design and implement key performance indicators and reporting solutions to drive insights and enable quicker and more effective decision making to achieve critical goals
    • Identify, quantify and drive operational and cost saving initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, and cost avoidance across multiple products and services
