    Description

Are you passionate about working at the intersection of finance, technology, and strategy for one of AWS"s most critical business areas? Join the EC2 Pricing Finance team, where you"ll shape pricing decisions for Core EC2 and AI workloads that power millions of businesses worldwide. This unique role goes beyond traditional finance, directly influencing pricing strategy, capital allocation, and infrastructure economics across GPU infrastructure, networking, and data center operations.

You"ll develop deep expertise in AWS infrastructure economics and Gen AI business modeling while becoming a trusted finance partner to EC2 Product, Deal Desk, Service Finance, and executive leadership. Operating in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment, you"ll lead complex pricing analyses, support multi-billion-dollar customer negotiations, and drive tooling improvements that underpin EC2"s marginal cost models.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Analyze infrastructure cost trends and evaluate pricing impacts across Core EC2 and AI workloads, building complex financial models that inform strategic pricing decisions and investment scenarios
    • Partner with Product, Service Finance, and engineering teams to develop and enhance marginal cost models, pricing methodologies, and automated processes that support evolving market conditions
    • Lead financial analysis and recommendations for large-scale customer negotiations and deals, synthesizing complex datasets into clear insights that influence multi-billion-dollar business decisions
    • Support executive leadership reviews by preparing strategic materials, conducting pricing and margin tradeoff analyses, and communicating complex technical and financial concepts to senior stakeholders
    • Drive process improvements and innovation in pricing finance mechanisms, collaborating across Finance, Deal Desk, Supply Chain, and Infrastructure teams to enhance accuracy and efficiency of EC2 pricing models

    A day in the life

Your day blends strategic analysis with high-impact collaboration across AWS"s most critical infrastructure decisions. You might start by analyzing infrastructure cost trends and pricing impacts for emerging Gen AI workloads, then partner with Product teams on investment scenarios that shape multi-million dollar infrastructure decisions. Afternoons often involve supporting active customer deal negotiations, building financial models that evaluate pricing tradeoffs, or preparing executive materials that influence long-term pricing strategy. You"ll work with engineering and supply chain teams to refine pricing methodologies while responding quickly to market changes in this dynamic, highly visible role.

    About the team

Our EC2 Pricing Finance team sits at the heart of AWS"s infrastructure and pricing decisions, supporting some of the company"s most strategic business opportunities across both Core EC2 and Gen AI businesses. We partner closely with Product, Service Finance, Deal Desk, Supply Chain, and Infrastructure teams to shape pricing strategy, evaluate large-scale customer opportunities, and support long-range planning for emerging technologies.

Operating in a highly analytical environment with significant executive visibility, our team values strong judgment, curiosity, and the ability to simplify complex problems into actionable decisions. You"ll join a collaborative group focused on driving innovation in pricing finance while building the mechanisms that power AWS"s continued growth in cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence services.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
