We're partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization in Houston that is seeking an experienced Finance & Administration Manager to join its leadership team. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting strategic financial planning, and partnering with leaders across the organization to ensure long-term financial health and operational excellence.

If you're someone who enjoys turning financial data into meaningful insights, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in accuracy and continuous improvement, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Do:

  • Support the Finance Director with financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range financial planning.

  • Analyze revenue opportunities, expense trends, and operational efficiencies to support strategic decision-making.

  • Track financial performance and ROI for productions, fundraising initiatives, and earned revenue activities.

  • Prepare revenue and expense forecasts for ticket sales, rentals, concessions, parking, and other revenue streams.

  • Maintain the general ledger in QuickBooks and oversee month-end close activities.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and perform account reconciliations.

  • Reconcile ticketing and contribution activity with accounting records while partnering with internal departments to resolve discrepancies.

  • Support donor, grant, and development-related financial reporting.

  • Assist with payroll processing, annual audits, IRS Form 990 preparation, and 1099 filings.

  • Research credit card discrepancies and chargebacks and prepare required financial surveys and reports.

  • Process ACH and wire transactions and oversee monthly corporate credit card reconciliations.

  • Prepare materials for Finance Committee and Board meetings.

  • Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls.

  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to support organizational goals and special projects.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

  • 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization.

  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software.

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.

  • Understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and financial compliance preferred.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across departments.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information.

Why This Role?

  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a respected nonprofit organization serving the Houston community.

  • Strategic role with visibility across finance, operations, and organizational leadership.

  • Collaborative and mission-driven culture that values innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
