Surface Transportation is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance Manager to join its Finance team. This role will be play a critical role in helping to optimize our operations costs with a focus on transportation efficiencies. This is an exciting opportunity to innovate and reduce our cost to serve customers through partnership with teams across Operations and Technology. You will partner with business leaders on specific projects that you will help drive from inception to delivery, in areas such as network design, under the roof execution, and forecasting and scheduling.

Regular collaboration with business leaders will provide an opportunity to exhibit your verbal and written communication skills. A typical day in this role involves creating new measures for business effectiveness, developing creative solutions using large scale data mining tools, and identifying high priority projects to maximize results for key stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

  • Dive Deep into processes and cost drivers to uncover efficiency opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business partners to substantiate new strategies through data analysis.
  • Think critically while developing cost savings calculation methodologies.
  • Think Big to maximize savings opportunities.
  • Draft and present white papers, taking an idea from inception to a full-fledged project.
  • Design metrics and business review documents to guide the operations team through execution.
  • Apply data-driven presentation skills with an ability to simplify complex problems.
